Free National Park Weeks

National parks are fabulous ways to explore and view America’s natural beauty. My family has visited several over the past few summers in Montana, Utah, and Colorado. Fortunately, the U.S. National Park Service designates Free National Park weekends for all of its 394 national parks throughout the year.  The next one is coming up beginning this weekend! Get these fee-free weekends in 2011 on your calendar:
  • April 16-24 (National Park Week)
  • June 21 (First day of summer)
  • September 24 (Public Lands Day)
  • November 11-13 (Veterans Day weekend)
Texas is home to several national parks, preserves, and historic sites that are offering free admission: Big Bend National Park, Fort Davis National Historic Site, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, and Padre Island National SeashoreFind the listing online.
Thanks to Houston on the Cheap for this
